Paresh Mehta, is a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of
Design, Ahmedabad. After a brief stint with advertising companies like
Hindustan Thompson, he left to pursue master's degree in Computer
Animation from the Academy of Arts University, San Fransisco. He coached
masters students as a professor and also enjoyed a challenging career as the technical designer working on well known projects and commercials for organizations such as Phoenix Zoo and SanFrancisco Police". He has worked as a Technical Designer in ILM- Industrial Light and Magic (of Jurassic Park and Star Wars Fame), U.S.A for 2 years. Here he worked on well known projects like the “Phantom Menace”.
He also taught at the Art Institute of Phoenix, Phoenix Arizona for 3 years
and at the Cogswell University, California for a brief period of time
He has also worked on Major projects for Maya Entertainment Ltd as a Creative Director. After gaining ten years of rich experience in the academic and
Professional fields in the United States; he founded Gecko animation studio and Academy. He is the CEO at Gecko and also is currently a Professor of Animation at Purdue University –Indiana, USA and is in the process of writing a book and launching a Signature program in animation with them.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
- Mr. Mehta is a “serial entrepreneur” who has been involved in the setting up of two companies
- He set up Jadoo Works in the year 2000 where he started as a Creative Director and went on to pursuing larger responsibilities like setting up teams, building the brand and marketing it to studios across US and Europe
- He also helped set up Paprika’s Animation Studio in 2001. He played a major role with the branding of the firm and also the setting up of production pipleine. The projects included making serials for countries like Japan and Singapore. Paprika’s has now tied up with Technicolor, one of the leading studios in Asia
- After gaining a varied experience in the academic and professional fields, he will finally set up Gecko Animation Studio in 2005
- resently involved in launching a signature program in Animation at Purdue University USA
